How COVID-19 affects the I.M.U.N.A. Foundation
The world currently has to deal with the negative effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19), for some of you, this raised questions regarding this year’s conference.
First of all, we would like to confirm that this year’s IMUNA will take place, as long as it is safe, and we have permission to do so. By all means, we keep an eye on the developments of the coronavirus in the Netherlands, and how it may affect our participants during the conference. However, above all, we have to adhere to government policies. The Dutch Government has proclaimed a lockdown, all schools are closed until the 6th of April, or until further notice. As the conference is only in June, there is currently no reason to cancel our XXVII Edition of IMUNA. We will keep you updated about any further proclamations done by our governments.
Ensuring the safety of our participants during the conference is our number one priority. All measures concerning staying healthy, have been sharpened. Hygiene plans put together by experts will be followed thoroughly by the Executive Staff of IMUNA, and hopefully also by your students. Such plans include washing your hands frequently, we will make sure there are enough hand sanitizers during the conference, to stay at home or at your guest families when feeling sick or having a cold, not shaking hands or giving hugs, etc.. Together we can make sure no one will catch any viruses during your stay in Alkmaar.
Last, but not least, I would like to urge you to pay the invoices sent to you by our Financial Manager. The IMUNA Foundation is a small foundation, mostly funded by the contributions of these fees, and we would not be able to organize this conference without them. Thereby, the Cancellation Fee has been dropped to only 20%, because we understand there are some insecurities concerning the participation due to COVID-19, but nevertheless think we should all share the costs. In the case of the cancellation of the whole conference, all fees will be refunded.
The Executive Staff hopes you stay healthy and to see you at our conference! Don't hesitate to contact us regarding any enquiry you might have.
